Our 12 MSc students taking the Livelihoods and Aquatic Resource Development module had an intensive session today with seaweeds expert Colin Hepburn who has a range of responsibilities, in the Teejoy Group. He is a Managing Director Teejoy Marine SBN BHD, Malaysia and Mannasol Products Ltd, UK asd well as being a Director of Panama Sea Farms SA, Panama and of MadAlg SA, Madagascar. The session focused on the livelihood impacts that farming seaweeds can have on poor coastal communities and how global value chains need to be reconfigured to optimise benefits. Teejoy is discussing an internship to support its work in Panama later this year.
