John Bostock participated in Aquaculture Singapore 2017 from 3-7th October, providing a workshop on Case Studies in Intensification and Disease Management in Pond, Cage and Recirculated Aquaculture Systems, and a seminar presentation on "Know why, know when and know how for aquaculture intensification". The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders from Singapore, and many other countries in the region together with a strong line-up of international speakers. Singapore currently struggles to be competitive as an aquaculture producer, but as one speaker noted, urbanisation is a common trend across the world and the challenges faced by Singapore will be more widespread in the future. It is therefore very well placed to be an innovator and test-bed for future technology development.
