Tasting the World - The Institute of Aquaculture’s International Food Night 2025

The Institute of Aquaculture community converged on the Holy Trinity Church Hall  on the evening of 17th October for its annual International Food Night  to welcome our new batch of MSc students and to celebrate our historic and ongoing internationalism. On meeting alumni around the World it’s always the event they recall with great fondness and, as in previous years, the turnout was great and the food amazingly diverse and tasty.

12 starters, 17 mains and 20 desserts were presented and using an app-based judging approach, fairness and participation, in the process of identifying worthy winners was our aim.

And so it was that Thank Le, a new MSc student from Vietnam won with her delicious ‘fish snacks’, Alexander took home the prize for his Gumbo and dirty rice and Ahmed aced the desserts with his Baklava.

The evening was finished off with a prize raffle and the ever-popular shove-a-pound at a bottle, where Louise demonstrated great spirit to win some spirt but was trounced by Anton’s deft play.
