John Bostock & Will Leschen from the Sustainable Aquaculture Group Institute of Aquaculture on 16th November 2016 attended the Inception meeting in London of a new Global Innovation Fund NESTA project which is setting up a new innovative investment "prize" delivery model for developing aquaculture for lower income individuals in Bangladesh and India.

Institute of Aquaculture Lunchtime Lecture Series Wednesday, 9/11/2016: Pierre-Olivier Maquart PhD student  from the Sustainable Aquaculture   Group gave a  presentation to the Institute of Aquaculture on: “From waste to feed: the Black Soldier Fly as a novel feed source for monosex tilapia fry.”

Dr Mahmoud El Tholth of Kafr El Sheik University last week    visited the Sustainable Aquaculture Group at the Institute as part of the DFID Newton funded BOLTI project which is looking at Behavioural Prophylaxis as a potentialfish health   management strategy for the Egyptian commercial tilapia   farming sector.

Dr Francis Murray from the Sustainable Aquaculture Group gavea presentation on  Recirculation Aquaculture Systems (RAS)  at the October   Singapore Aquaculture 2016  Conference.

Professor David Little through his presentation sought in this perception-reality analysis of shrimp, to contextualize the negative perception of the species that’s been playing out in the European media.

Dr Richard Newton from the Sustainable Aquaculture Group presented within the technical session on the collaborative work that has been on-going between IFFO and UoS since 2013 - Based on estimating quantities of raw materials for marine ingredient production. Click above for more details
